- The fiber requires minimal setting changes when replacing other cellulosic or synthetic fibers.
- It is processable with all major spinning technologies.
- It can be blended with all other fiber types.
- The achievable yarn strengths meet the requirements for both knit and woven applications.
- Its natural moisture regain characteristics help to avoid electrostatic charge during processing.
- It is available in a wide range of fiber titers and cut lengths, including Micro and Micro Air, supporting a broad yarn count portfolio.

 

Fabric mills, dyers and finishers benefit from the fiber properties of TENCEL™ Modal in the following ways:
- The fiber enables endless design possibilities in knits and wovens through blending with all major fiber types.
- It provides exceptional softness, making it ideal for next-to-skin applications without the need for additional softeners.
- It delivers high color depth and brilliance.
- It is certified under OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Class 1.
- It blends perfectly with cotton, offering mercerisability, tone-in-tone dyeing, deep dyeing effects, and improved evenness of the fabric surface.
- It ensures good reproducibility in processing.
- It offers higher dimensional stability and improved washing stability compared to viscose.
- It supports diverse design possibilities with fiber titers ranging from 0.8 dtex to 3.3 dtex.

 

Final garments made with TENCEL™ Modal are characterized by the following qualities:

Blending
  • Ideal blending partner with all major fibers. Preferred for blends with cotton and linen due to its similar dyeability.
General
  • Fully traceable in all processing steps due to fiber identification technology.
Spinning
  • Suitable for airjet spinning, ring spinning and their adaptions. There are some limitations for open-end spinning.
Fabric
  • Recommended for knitted fabrics, however excellent results have also been achieved on woven fabrics.
Processing
  • Suitable for easy-care finishing.
  • Not positively affected by bio polishing processes.
  • Suitable to dye with all common dyestuff and application methods for cellulosic fibers.
  • Sensitive to harsh bleaching conditions, however by using optimized bleaching recipes fiber damage can be prevented.
