About TENCEL™ Lyocell - Micro A100

About TENCEL™ Lyocell - Micro A100

Spinning mills benefit from the fiber properties of TENCEL™ Lyocell - Micro A100 in the following ways:
- TENCEL™ Lyocell - Micro A100 fibers can produce very fine yarns with higher tenacity compared to 1.3 dtex fibers.
- The fiber is preferred for blends with polyester, polyamide, silk and wool due to its high resistance to acid conditions; however, it is not recommended for cotton blends because of the large difference in dye affinity.
- Its natural moisture regain characteristics help to avoid electrostatic charge during processing.
- It offers higher strength and working capacity than viscose.

Fabric mills, dyers and finishers benefit from the fiber properties of TENCEL™ Lyocell - Micro A100 in the following ways:
- The fiber exhibits no fibrillation, allowing an easy processing in knits.
- It enables the creation of lightweight knitted and woven fabrics with a flowing drape, a more even textile appearance, and a softer handfeel, providing exceptional wearing comfort.
- It supports a wide variety of applications in both knit and woven fabrics.
- It offers high dye uptake; no other cellulose fiber dyes as intensively as TENCEL™ Lyocell - A100.

Final products made with TENCEL™ Lyocell - Micro A100 are characterized by the following qualities:
- The fiber supports diverse design possibilities for lightweight products.
- Color depth and intensity remain intact even after numerous washes.
- It adds comfort to synthetics through moisture management and a natural touch, and enhances wool by making it smooth and gentle on the skin.
- It delivers appealing aesthetics, including sheen and deep, vibrant colors due to its high dye uptake.
- It improves the wear & care performance compared to viscose, offering better washing durability, good wrinkle recovery, and enhanced drape.
- It enables full traceability from fiber to final product.

Key features overview

Key features overview
Blending
  • Not recommended for blends with cotton, mainly due to the large differences in dye affinity between cotton and TENCEL™ Lyocell - A100.
  • Preferred for blends with polyester, polyamide, polyacrylic, silk and wool due to its high resistance to acidic conditions.
General
  • Fully traceable in all processing steps due to fiber identification technology.
Spinning
  • Suitable for airjet spinning, ring spinning and their adaptions. There are some limitations for open-end spinning.
Fabric
  • Recommended for knitted fabrics, however excellent results have also been achieved on woven fabrics.
Processing
  • Suitable to dye with all common dyestuff and application methods for cellulosic fibers except vat and sulphur dyes.
  • Not positively affected by bio polishing processes.
  • Not stable to the typical bleaching conditions used for cotton, however acceptable whiteness levels can be achieved using modified bleaching recipes.
  • Not suitable for treatments involving high alkaline concentrations.
  • Not suitable for easy-care finishing due to significant loss in fiber strength.
