About TENCEL™ Lyocell - Matte
About TENCEL™ Lyocell - Matte
Spinning mills benefit from the fiber properties of TENCEL™ Lyocell - Matte in the following ways:
- The fiber serves as an ideal blending partner for all major fibers.
- Its natural moisture regain characteristics help to avoid electrostatic charge during processing.
- It is suitable for ring, siro, and compact spinning with adapted machine settings in medium to coarse yarn counts.
Fabric and denim mills, dyers and finishers benefit from the fiber properties of TENCEL™ Lyocell - Matte in the following ways:
- The fiber reduces the shine of conventionally indigo-dyed denim applications.
- It adds softness and a cozy touch to cotton fabrics.
- It is certified under OEKO-TEX® Standard 100, Class 1.
- Up to 30% PEFC™ or FSC® certified TENCEL™ Lyocell - Matte fiber is eligible for GOTS certification.
Final products made with TENCEL™ Lyocell - Matte are characterized by the following qualities:
- The fiber was developed to reduce the shine of conventionally indigo-dyed denim applications, resulting in a duller appearance in the finished garment.
- It is an excellent fiber for garment-washed products.
- It is recommended for lightweight denim fabrics, and special processes are available to achieve excellent results on other fabric types.
- It enables full traceability from fiber to final product.

Key features overview
Key features overview
Blending
- An ideal blending partner for all major fibers.
General
- Fully traceable in all processing steps due to fiber identification technology.
Spinning
- Recommended for ring, siro and compact spinning with adapted machine setting in medium to coarse yarn counts.
Fabric
- Ideally recommended for light weight denim fabrics. However, special processes are available to achieve excellent results on other fabrics.
- A fibrillating Lyocell fiber containing a blend of dulling agents. This results in a reduced luster of denim applications in comparison to TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers.
- An excellent fiber for garment washed products.
Processing
- Is more sensitive to alkaline conditions than TENCEL™ Lyocell fibers. Processes requiring high pH and temperature, may lead to a reduction in fabric strength.
- Suitable to dye with all common dyestuff and application methods for cellulosic fibers.
